·Use lip balms with soothing, moisturizing ingredients like beeswax, petroleum, and shea butter.

·Avoid balms containing menthol, camphor, phenol, scents, or flavors because they actually increase dryness.

·Look for products that include SPF.

·Drink more water.

·Don't irritate the area: stop biting, picking, or licking your lips.

·If you don't like the traditional balms, use aloe vera or coconut oil instead.
